Operations Assistant
Scope: Operations · Project Management · Hospitality · Talent Relations
A multi-day music and culture experience that started in Atlanta and expanded to South Africa brings together live performances, DJ events, industry conversations, brand activations, and community programming across multiple venues and formats.
Project context
My work with Milk + Cookies has spanned multiple editions and evolved alongside the event, from supporting operations and VIP/talent logistics during a major Kaytranada-headlined experience to returning for expanded music-week programming featuring artists, DJs, panels, and cultural events throughout the city.
Working across different venues, teams, talent, and event formats made each edition a different operational challenge. The experience required moving fluidly between behind-the-scenes logistics and artist-facing responsibilities while helping maintain a consistent experience across a fast-moving week of programming.
The Situation

Producing multiple music experiences across venues, artists, partners, and production teams requires an operation that can adapt quickly as schedules, talent needs, and live-event conditions change.
My work with Milk + Cookies required moving fluidly between operations and artist-facing responsibilities while maintaining a consistent experience for talent, guests, and internal teams.
The Execution

Supported festival and music-week programming across operations, artist relations, VIP and talent logistics, and on-site production.
Responsibilities ranged from coordinating artist movement and responding to real-time talent needs to supporting programming logistics, facilitating communication across teams, and even stepping into public-facing roles including facilitating a panel.
Across each engagement, I worked as a flexible operational resource identifying gaps, communicating across stakeholders, and helping translate plans into a functioning live experience.
The Impact

Built an ongoing relationship with Milk + Cookies across multiple editions, returning in expanded operational and artist-facing capacities.
The experience strengthened my ability to work across departments without losing sight of the people at the center of the production - balancing artist experience, operational requirements, and the constant adaptation required by live events.
